Booking and payments

 You can book online by filling in the requested details on our website.

As we use the hotel rate to convert currencies, we recommend you to bring enough cash to avoid extra costs. You can pay with credit card, either Visa or Mastercard and by 3G Direct Pay. Note there is an additional bank charge of 5%.

  • No deposit required.
  • Final payment is due 30 days before check in.
  • Final payment is non refundable.
  • Last minute bookings (arrival within 30 days) are non refundable.

ATMs are found at the airport, in Stone Town or in Paje at the petrol station. Please note that the ATMs in Paje frequently run out of cash.

Cancellation policy

  • We offer 100% cancellation until 30 days before arrival.

Temporary pandemic policy

For all bookings until October 2021 the following applies:

  • A credit note valid for 12 months from the original date of arrival will be issued.

Due to the pandemic we offer a flexible cancellation policy when flights are being cancelled or rescheduled. Please contact us for more information.

Disclosure of Information

Mr. Kahawa undertakes to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all personal information collected. Information may only be disclosed when required by law or in cases where such action is necessary or desirable to defend the rights or property of Mr. Kahawa or its users.

Room availability, delivery and return

  • Reserved rooms are available to the customer starting at 2:00pm on the agreed arrival date. The customer does not have the right to earlier availability.
  • Rooms must be vacated and made available to the hotel no later than 10:30am on the agreed departure date. After that time, on the grounds of the delayed vacating of the room for use exceeding the contractual time, the hotel may charge 50% of the full accommodation rate (list price) for the additional use of the room until 6:00pm (after 6:00pm: 100%).
  • Mr. Kahawa are not liable to the customer for property (cash securities and valuables) brought into the guesthouse.
  • Mr. Kahawa will not be responsible in case of valuable loss, injury or death caused to the customer in act of robbery or piracy inside the guesthouse.
  • All invoices (restaurant, activities, kitesurfing) signed by the customer will have to be paid before departure. (Rest)payment of accommodation is carried out on the day of arrival.
